Apparently HP is getting rid of subcontractor 724 Solutions for its access gateway solution deployment with Sprint Nextel Corp. The next-generation Internet Protocol-based network and data services provider said HP has notified 742 Solutions that its contract will be terminated Oct. 31.

724 Solutions said the change could reduce its revenue from HP by $500,000 per month, but the company also said that it will continue in talks with Sprint for alternate uses for its technology within the Sprint PCS network.
